Obituary of Lois Jean (Cowles) McCoy-Lopeman
Lois Jean Cowles was born August 5, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to Jack Cowles and Iola Herron Cowles.
Lois was active in churches throughout her life and was a member of First Congregational Church of Hudson for over 50 years.
She met and eloped with her high school sweetheart, Harlon G. McCoy in January of 1942. They moved to Hudson in 1946 and children, Judy and Dale soon followed. Lois and Harlen were married for 32 years until Harlen passed away in January of 1974. Eight years later, Lois married Clarence W. Lopeman. She and Clarence shared 15 years of marriage together and enjoyed travelling all over the U.S.
Preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Donna and Marilyn, she is survived by her children, Judy McCoy-Stock and Dale McCoy; grandchildren, Todd (Sharon) Stock, David McCoy, and Christopher (Rozalina) McCoy; great-grandchildren, Claire, Erin and Joseph Stock, Eliezer and Henry McCoy; siblings, Albert (Carla) Keesler, James (Karen) Keesler, Linda Rogers, Edward (Darla) Keesler, Ernest Keesler, Anson (June) Keesler, Glenn (Dorothy) Cowles, Carol Humphrey and Sharon Veon; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora St., Hudson, Ohio at 2 PM on Sunday, September 17, with a reception immediately following. A private interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to either First Congregational Church of Hudson or American Cancer Society.
