Obituary of Carolyn Sue Thomas

Carolyn Sue Thomas, (nee Greenwood), 79, was born in Cuyahoga Falls on July 18, 1938 and died on October 18, 2017, at home in the Hartville area of Lake Township. She married Michael D. Thomas, July 6, 1957, and celebrated 60 years of marriage and life together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. Greenwood and Carol; Irene Greenwood (nee Taggart); daughter Debra Sue Thomas, (infant), brother Robert R. and Norma Greenwood; nephew Dennis Greenwood and niece Donna Sue Curkendoll. She is survived by husband Michael D. Thomas Sr.; sons Michael D. Thomas, Jr. and his wife Celia, Timothy Thomas, Todd Michael Thomas and his wife Josephine; grandchildren Shannon Danko, Tyler Thomas and his wife Alison, Alexanderia and Andrew Thomas; nephew Gary Curkendoll; niece Cris Curkendoll and Shannon Dieringer.

She graduated from Stow High School in 1955, went to work at Bell Telephone (AT&T) in the billing dept. and then raised her three sons and family.

Her family wishes to thank all Mercy Medical Center Hospice nurses and aides staff and the Mercy Hospital staff of Dr. Robert Packer and Dr. Makilzhan Shanmugan.

There will be no calling hours. Her family will welcome friends and family to the graveside service at Stow Cemetery on Friday at 11 AM.  Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Mercy Medical Center, 4369 Whipple Avenue NW, Canton 44718.
