Obituary of Ronald V. Zimcosky

MUNROE FALLS – Ronald V. Zimcosky, 81, passed away October 28, 2017, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Footedale, Pennsylvania, on March 14, 1936, to the late Frank and Josephine (Marcinak) Zimcosky.  Ron retired from the Terex Division of General Motors with 39 years of service and as chief of the Munroe Falls Police Department with 16 years of service. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. For the past 12 years, he volunteered at Summa Akron City Hospital.

Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Rosalia (Fraczek) Zimcosky, and brother William (Marcella). He is survived by daughters, Debbie Ritzinger (Brian Yelling) and Karen (Marty) Keenan; sons, Ronald (Anita) Zimcosky and Michael Zimcosky (Michele Russell); sisters, Rita (Pete) Kutek and Bernie (Joe) Pecsko; brother Thomas (Barb) Zimcosky; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday 5 to 8 PM.  Mass of the Christian Burial Thursday 10 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls 44221, Fr. Neil Crosby celebrant.  Burial Silver Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
