Obituary of Kathleen P. Maruna
Our earthly angel earned her heavenly wings on January 20, 2018 after more than an eleven year battle with Lewy Body Dementia, and will lovingly be remembered by her husband Jeffrey (Jeff); son Greg (Billi-Jo) of Titusville, FL; daughter Judy Lynn of Akron; sisters Peggy Bugaj (Alan, dec’d), Beverly Arndt, and many nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Stella (Poplar) Parle.
Born in Cleveland, Kathy was a graduate of Holy Name High School, played the piano, and the clarinet and glockenspiel in the marching band. She had been employed at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital, the University of Akron Polymer Science Upward Bound Program and Stow BOE. Kathy enjoyed rescuing abandoned and stray pets, boating, riding golf carts around South Bass Island then getting down to boogie with Pat Daily on Put-in-Bay.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Drs. John Wagner, William Schukay, and James Leverenz, for their compassionate clinical skills.
