Obituary of Harry N. Ruggles
Harry Newton Ruggles, 93, of Stow, Ohio, passed away on July 30, 2018 in Akron, Ohio.
Harry was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, to Gifford and Madge on July 21, 1925. He attended Stow Senior High and graduated in 1942. He was drafted into the Army during WWII and earned a Silver and Bronze Star during the 1944 Battle of the Bulge in the European Theater with the 95th Infantry Division. Harry retired from Wartko Construction as a heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed selling eggs at the local farmer's market and was an active member in the community including: Darrow Street Grange, the VFW, Kent Canadian Club, and Stow Community Church. Most of all, he loved being with his family.
Harry is survived by his twin brother, Harold; his children, Pete (Sally) of Randolph, Barbara of Cincinnati, Richard (Robin) of Randolph, Liz (Steve Lattimer) of Stow, Rob (Lisa) of Suffield; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Sally, of 67 years.
Friends are invited to Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, OH 44273, where funeral service will be held August 8, 2018, promptly at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Jim Case officiating. Harry will receive full military honors and be interred with his wife, Sally.
