Obituary of Tex Wade Eskew
Tex Wade Eskew, 87, went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2018. He was born October 17, 1930 in Buchannon, WV to Lloyd and Irene (Duncan) Eskew.
Tex was a man who always believed his family came first, no matter what. Being an avid hunter and outdoorsman was how he loved to spend his free time. Everyone that met Tex immediately fell in love with him because of his charismatic personality and infectious smile. You could consistently rely on Tex to have a quick wit and to always make you laugh. Tex had a true and constant love of gospel music. He was the choir director at Country Baptist Church for many years and also sang with several gospel groups including: The Countrymen Trio, The Evangelaires Quartet, and The Four By Grace Quartet. One could always identify his amazing 1st tenor voice and say "That's Tex!"
Tex served in the United States Navy in his younger years and was a printer for The Press of Ohio at the time he retired.
Tex was preceded in death by his daughter Traci Erin Eskew. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Ruth (Greer) Eskew; son Tim (Renee) Eskew; daughters Denise (Dan Machiela) Eskew and Erika (Dave) Coleman; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Tex at Redmon Funeral Home for visitation on Friday August 17 from 5 to 8 PM and for the funeral service Saturday August 18 at 3 PM. Pastor David Carroll celebrant.
