Obituary of Clyde Thomas Sheppard
Clyde Sheppard, age 79, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 from T-cell Lymphoma Cancer.
Clyde was born on April 5, 1939 to Clyde Austin and Beth Sheppard. He graduated Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1957. He was on the Goodyear Squad for many years, then he went into sales working for AkroMills, Bardons and Oliver, and Barth Industries. In retirement, he worked for the Cuyahoga Falls schools for 13 years as the "Pony Boy." Clyde was a people person. He loved golf, Ohio State, the Browns, but most of all, his family. He loved his grandchildren so much that he never missed any games, programs, or anything else that they were involved in. He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ. He also enjoyed the Monday night Car Shows.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Bob Oyler. He is survived by his wife, Lynette of 36 years; daughters Lisa (John) Platt, Aimee (Walter) Davis, and son Darin (Tina) Sheppard; grandchildren Jacob and Nicholas Davis, Sarah and Emily Platt, Lauren Sheppard and Taylor Hay, great-grandson Zachary Greene; sisters and brothers-in-law Dian (Dale) Harbach, Sue (Philip) Angelo, Ron and Jorja Evans; and many nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and lots and lots of friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, and he will be truly missed by many.
Friends may call at the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow on Thursday, November 8, 7-9 PM, where funeral service will be held Friday, November 9, 1 PM, Rev. Kirk Bruce celebrant. Private inurnment Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany U.C.C, 1235 Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls, 44223.
