Obituary of Faye Lois Conti

MUNROE FALLS - Faye Lois Conti, 81, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of God, surrounded by all of her family, on November 21, 2018. “Everything’s gonna be all right,” she said. And it will be.

Faye grew up in West Akron and graduated from Buchtel High School in 1954. She earned an associate’s degree from Hammel Business College and went to work for the M.F. Murdock Co., where she met the love of her life Robert. They were married for 53 wonderful years. Faye’s dream, long before she met Robert, was to have six children. Luckily for all of us, Robert agreed.

After a couple years in Cuyahoga Falls, they settled in Munroe Falls for the rest of their lives. Faye was the quiet force behind the warmth, laughter, traditions, and great memories that filled the Conti family home. Everyone was welcomed at Faye’s house. Family, friends, and neighbors were expected to drop in. “Come in and set a spell,” she’d say. All the neighborhood kids and friends affectionately referred to her as “Mrs. C.”  Faye was devoted to her family, her friends, and her faith. She loved reading, southern gospel music, movie mysteries, and a good shot of whiskey - not necessarily in that order.

Preceded in death by her parents Willie Levi and Della Mae Fortner, sisters Clara Humphrey, Barbara Ornduff, and Diane Powell, grandson Mark, and her loving husband Robert, she is survived by children Stephen Conti, Linda (Michael) Trotto, William (Nicole) Conti, Christina Conti, Michael (Melissa) Conti, and Michelle Conti; uncle Dorton Hughes; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Monday 4 to 7 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
