Obituary of Joseph John Bastolla

Joseph John Bastolla, 90, of Bath, Ohio, passed away on December 11, 2018.

Joseph was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1928. He graduated from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, and then went on to serve in the U.S. Army for four years. He attended the University of Bologna in Italy for his medical degree.

Joe moved to Ohio where he completed his medical training and opened his practice in Stow. He was a family physician there for 40 years. He was active in the community and served as team physician to the Stow High School football team for 25 years.

Preceded in death by his brother John, he is survived by his wife Tonia, his son Joey, and his nephew, John Edward Bastolla of Lexington, Kentucky.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation on Monday from 5 to 7 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 9:30 AM at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Akron, Fr. Matt Jordan celebrant.
