Obituary of Barbara and Paul Kilgore

With great sorrow, we announce the death of our beloved parents. Mom passed away December 14, 2018 at The Landing of Stow after two and a half years of dementia. Mom was born in Mogadore on February 6, 1935 to the late Helen and Harold Bishop. Dad was born in Randolph on January 11, 1935 to the late Carl and Esther Kilgore. He passed away May 9, 2016 in Winter Haven, Florida after a sudden illness.

Mom and Dad met at Ellet High School at age 15 and were married after graduating in 1953. They made their home with their six children on a small farm in Atwater for more than 40 years before retiring to Winter Haven. Dad owned and operated Oak Hill Shell in Ellet, and Mom was a homemaker. They enjoyed an extraordinarily blessed life of family, friends, world travel, and golf.

They were preceded in death by siblings; Suzanne C. Huth and William H. Bishop, Gordon Kilgore, Juanita Kilgore, and their grandson, Aaron Kilgore. Dad is survived by his sister, Sandra R. (Wayne) Binn of Wichita, Kansas. They are survived by their children, Vallerie (Monty) Gleason of Newton, Kansas, Paul (Gina) Kilgore of Stow, Debbie (Jerry) Eichler of Alliance, Sallie of Stow, Karl (Trisha) Kilgore of Melbourne, Australia, and Wray (Terrie) Kilgore of Uniontown. They were blessed with grandchildren Douglas (Jessica) Hicks, Stephanie (Chris) Thompson, Ryan Gleason, Whitney (Michael) Snow, Kristopher (Megan) Kilgore, Chelsea (Matt) Kallister, Julie (Rob) Rice, Jason (Jessie) Kilgore, Derek Kilgore, Bradley Kilgore, and Nathan Kilgore. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Daniel Hicks, Dylan Thompson, Zack, Gabriel, and Hailey Snow, McKenzie Kilgore, Ava and Nick Rice, and Isabelle Kilgore. They are also survived by Mom's dear uncle, William Dieckman of Akron, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date, where both will be inurned at the Atwater Cemetery. The family would like to greatly thank the staff at the Landing of Stow and Crossroads Hospice for their magnificent and loving care of our Mom.
