Obituary of Dolores M. Burkhart

Late Monday, January 28, 2019, Dolores G. Burkhart of Munroe Falls, passed away while being attended by very special hospice members that had been caring for her for several months. Dolores was at home at Danbury Memory Care in Cuyahoga Falls. She was 90 years old.

Dolores was born Dolores Georgia Mueller, in Pittsburgh, PA on November 30, 1928 to Georgia E. and Walter G. Mueller, their first child; followed by her sister, Marlene and her brother, (Walter) Gary Mueller.

Dolores attended Academy of Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh, PA, graduating in 1946. She aspired to be a fashion model and though that dream did not come to fruition, she was beautiful and always in style. Dolores worked as a secretary for Westinghouse Electric Corporation before meeting and marrying James Burkhart in 1955. Dolores was a homemaker much of her life, and she worked for several years at O'Neil's Department Store in Stow, in the women's clothing department.

Dolores loved spending time with her children and then babysitting and playing with her grandchildren. She had a passion for reading and liked to work in the flower beds in her yard in Stow.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Jane B. Catherine; son, James H. (Dolly) Burkhart III; grandchildren, Michele K. (Josh) Snyder, Shelby N. Burkhart; great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Alessandra Snyder; and brother, Gary (Donna) Mueller. Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Burkhart, Jr.; sister, Marlene Danhires; and parents, Georgia and Walter Mueller.

A private service officiated by Reverend Jim Case is to be held at Redmon Funeral Home to celebrate her life. She will be laid to rest at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow, Ohio.
