Obituary of Robert A. Podges
Robert A. Podges, 90, passed away April 4, 2019.
Born in Cleveland, he was a longtime Ashtabula resident, and had been employed with Buckeye Union Insurance, retiring in 1990 after 26 years of service. Robert was also a member of Plymouth United Methodist Church, Plymouth VFD, and El Kadir Grotto in Ashtabula. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Robert enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, and was an avid Browns and Indians fan.
Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and sister, Lori Blaine, he is survived by son, Robert B. (Josetta) Podges; daughter, Karen Hakala; grandchildren, Josh, Greg, Jennifer, Amanda, and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Austin, Madison, Isabella, Mason, and Jayden; and sister, Eleanor Keener.
Pastor Lisa Cortwright will conduct service Friday 10 AM at Plymouth United Methodist Church, 970 Plymouth Brick Road, West, Ashtabula 44004. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve.
