Obituary of Albert J. Sparber
Albert John Sparber, age 66 of Hudson, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
Albert was the beloved husband of Carol (Feldman) Sparber; devoted father of Brian Sparber (Shirley), Jessica Gumucio (Oscar), Marc Sparber (Melissa), Ryan Sparber, and Melanie Sparber; loving brother of Linda (Sparber) Spitzer and brother-in-law to Don Spitzer; son-in-law to Charles and Marjorie Feldman; brother-in-law to Linda (Feldman) McCain (Stephen), Thomas Feldman (Rashel), and Charles William Feldman (Sarah). He will be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Gabriel, Lucia, Olivia, and Oscar and by his nephews Chris, Craig, and David.
Al was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Prior to serving his country in the U.S. Army, he proudly played baseball at Marquette University and then for the Pittsburgh Pirates farm team. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed being his own boss. Al started his career in the food industry by working with his uncle who inspired his love for fine food, imported cheeses and chocolate truffles. He designed and operated one of the first full-service gourmet supermarkets in Arizona. In spite of Al’s love for good food, he finally found his niche as co-founder of a software and web-development company he named Project VII. He authored several books on software development as well as a young adult trilogy entwining mythology and angels and dedicated to all those who wonder “what if?”
Al was both a master and a jack-of-all-trades. He was smart, witty, sarcastic, and unwavering in his character. He was an excellent cook who loved animals and who enjoyed spending time at home with his family. He was a devoted New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Cleveland Indians fan who preferred watching the game from the comfort of his own home. Al was also an avid reader and sci-fi fan. Although he loved Star Wars and Star Trek, his favorite past time was enjoying an evening cup of coffee while watching sappy Hallmark movies.
Visitation will be held Friday 5 to 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where a Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest at Markillie Cemetery in Hudson.
