Obituary of John Sabistina
Munroe Falls - John Sabistina, 81, passed away on July 24, 2019 after complications with Dementia. He was born in Ellsworths, PA on August 29, 1937 to Joseph and Theresa (Scarito) Sabistina.
John is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Brenda and siblings Carmen, Vince and Dave. He is survived by his children, Brian (Shelly) Sabistina, Laura (Mike) Jacobs and John (Joy) Sabistina; siblings, Joseph (Jr.), Violet (Rose), Shirley and Joanne; along with many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
John served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957-1959 and retired from Ford with 38 years of service at the Walton Hills Stamping Plant. Upon retirement, John enjoyed an illustrious 20-year vacation doing what he loved best, garage selling. He was an original American Picker well before it became a main street terminology. If you lived in the Munroe Falls area you most likely found yourself getting a new bicycle or lawnmower from our dad. John always had a smile for a stranger and offered his labor whenever needed to his friends and family.
Special thanks to the nurses and aides at Mulberry Gardens Memory Care for their patience and care over the past 1 1/2 years while John’s health was in decline.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 28 at 3 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, and where friends may call from 1 PM until service time. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
