Obituary of Adelbert Henry Seiple Jr.

Adelbert “Del” Henry Seiple, Jr., 86, of Hudson, Ohio, passed away on August 3, 2019, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

Del was born in Warren, Ohio, to Adelbert Henry Seiple, Sr. and Margaret Seiple (nee Nesbit) on February 24, 1933. He graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1951 and went on to graduate from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, in 1954. Following college, Del served as an Aircraft Navigator with the Military Air Transport Service (U.S. Air Force) from 1954-1957. He then earned his law degree from Cleveland Marshall Law School in 1963. He worked at National City Bank (1957-63), Glidden Company (1963-68), and TRW, Inc. (1968-93) where he was the Director of Risk Management and Assistant Treasurer. He also served as Chairman or Director of several international insurance or reinsurance companies. Del was an excellent bridge player, and enjoyed photography, travel and reading.

Del is survived by his wife, Gail Seiple (nee Carey), of Hudson, Ohio; three children; Steve (Rebecca) of Delaware, Ohio, Karen Duffy (Glenn) of Macomb, Michigan and Kristine Serowik (Joseph) of Cleveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren; Tyler Seiple (Amy), Kelsey Hart (Thomas), Ryan Duffy, Amanda Duffy, Kevin Duffy, Joseph Serowik (Erin) and Thomas Serowik; two great-granddaughters; Hannah Hart and Natalie Hart, and four nieces.

Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio, on September 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on September 7, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in the Serenity Chapel at Laurel Lake Retirement Community, 200 Laurel Lake Drive, Hudson, Ohio.
