Obituary of Noma R. Spencer
HUDSON- Noma R. Spencer, 87, died August 23, 2019.
Noma was born in Morgansville, West Virginia to Eben Burges and Martha Madeline Robinson (nee McMillan). She grew up in the Shirley Community and had attended Tyler County High School and West Virginia Business College. She was a Stow resident for many years prior to moving to Hudson in 1987. Noma was a woman of great faith, had attended the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, and had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Akron for over 50 years, where she was a member of the Keystone Class. Noma also volunteered for many years at Western Reserve Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Allan, son Mark, and brother-in-law Carl Nepps. She is survived by her son Chad (Karen) Spencer of Hudson; grandchildren Corey, Jennifer, Christopher, and Nicholas Spencer; sister Linda Nepps; loving companion James Chapman, and friend Gary Pitt.
The family expresses their sincere thanks and appreciation for the compassionate care and attention given to Noma at Danbury Senior Living in Hudson.
Rev. Doug Denton will conduct a service Tuesday, September 10th at 5 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 3 PM until service time. Burial and graveside service, with Rev. Donald Thomas officiating, will be Wednesday, September 11th at 1:00 PM at Shirley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Shirley, West Virginia.
