Obituary of Nancy L. Costello
Nancy L. Costello, 95, of Stow, Ohio made her final journey to the Lord on November 4, 2019.
She was the beloved mother of James M. Costello (Sandy) of Stow, Ohio, and Susan Moser (Jim) of Ascutney, Vermont. Nancy had been a resident at Stow Glen Retirement Village since July of 2010. She was loved and treasured by each person she came in contact with. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff for caring for her throughout the years.
Nancy was born on December 24th, 1923 to Fredrick Alexander Winfrey and Ruby Kessler in Washington D.C. Nancy grew up with twin siblings, Dick and Jane (yes, really!). Nancy attended the University of Pennsylvania where she was awarded a degree in social work. She then joined the American Red Cross where she was later deployed to Germany in 1945. Nancy met her husband while in Germany, Army Staff Sargent Donald Costello. After spending many years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nancy then moved to Framingham, Massachusetts where she started her career in commercial insurance. She finished her career at Lehre and Madden in Natick, Massachusetts. She quickly referred to her coworkers as people she would call “family.” Nancy was an avid traveler who made her mark in places like Costa Rica, Israel, Egypt and British Columbia.
Nancy is predeceased by her parents, husband, and twin siblings. She left her legacy here on earth with her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In keeping with Nancy’s request, she will be cremated with a small family ceremony of spreading of her ashes at the place of her desire.
