Mr Sechrist was my honors American teacher, and Mme was my French teacher. It was the best having both of them because she would share stories about him. I learned so much in his class, that as an American history teacher, myself, I used all the time. The best days were when we could get him to laugh, because his humor was so dry and he always seemed so stoic. Rest in peace Mr. Sechrist, you made such an impact on my life and career, I'm sorry I never got the chance to tell you.

Mr. Sechrist was a wonderful and kind gentleman. I talked fo him frequently in dining. Both my daughter Abby (without the “E” - Mrs. Sechrist) and I really liked him. He will be missed.

I had Mr. Sechrist for social studies in 1967-1968. He was one of the few teachers I remember. He had a dry sense of humor and I remember laughing to myself at something when others didn't seem to notice. He was someone who made a difference. RIP.

Dave was my mentor at Nordonia. I was right out of college and he was my department chair. He taught me never to settle with what I know. He told me to learn something about my discipline everyday. I am now in my 34 year of teaching and still try to do that everyday I teach. He was a class act. I am so glad our paths crossed I think of him a lot. Thanks Dave for giving so much to so many. Rest in peace my friend and mentor❤

Mr. and Mrs. Sechrist were favorite teachers of mine in the late 70s. I studied French for four years with Mrs. Sechrist. I had after-lunch study period and social studies with Mr. Sechrist in junior year, and remember that my friend Carol Louis and I tried to see how many times we could make him laugh during study period (since we sat near the front, and he could hear our conversations). We actually got him to laugh two or three times, but we saw lots of smiles. Wonderful teachers and wonderful people!
