Obituary of Jewell Frances Hunter

STOW – Jewell Frances Hunter (nee Cooper), 97, passed away February 21, 2020. She was born in Odon, IN on October 31, 1922, to Lovell and Marie Seneff Cooper. Jewell was married to Gilbert Lee Hunter on May 10, 1942 in Bloomfield, IN. Shortly after, they moved to Columbus, OH to pursue work in a plant to make plane engines for WWII. Jewell’s great love in life was gardening. She especially loved roses and grew many varieties at Gilbert’s home in Grove City. Preceded in death by husband, Gilbert Lee Hunter and six brothers and sisters, she is survived by son, Michael (Patricia Kay) Hunter; daughter, Barbara (Keith) Shy; granddaughters, Katherine (Jeremy) Seale, Emily (Matthew) Little, Elizabeth (Kyle) Cribbs, Alexandria (Mark) Holmquist and Jennifer (Bryan) Zayicek; great-grandchildren, Claire, Paige and Brooke Little, Madeline, Hunter and Summer Cribbs, Reese Zayicek and Dylan Seale. Pastor Jim Case will conduct service Thursday 3 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224, where friends may call from 1 PM until service time. Burial Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
