June Sombrio Brown

Obituary of June Arlene Sombrio Brown

June Gallagher Sombrio Brown With abundant joy, June Brown met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face March 20, 2020. June Arlene Gallagher was born in Akron on June 6, 1934 to Irene and Frank Gallagher. She was blessed to have a happy childhood with her mother along with her siblings, Betty and Buster, in the home of "Pop" Brown, who pastored the West Hill Mission. There, June came to know Jesus as her Savior. Later in her journey, pastors Dave Burnham and Jerry Harpool were instrumental in her lifelong spiritual growth. Her relationship with the Lord was well known as she shared the love of Jesus and His faithfulness to her to all she met. June taught Bible studies for nearly 5 decades in her home and at church. She also taught Sunday School for many years. Her home was always open - hospitality was her gift - sharing the best she had with all. June was also able to use her gifts with Operation Mobilization in Mosbach, Germany for 2 years. June has been known by her fabulous sense of humor and her love for all things Irish. Her hard work in all aspects of life has always been admired. June raised her children Colleen Sombrio Brown (Munroe Falls, Ohio) and Murray Sombrio (Arlington, Texas) to love and serve Jesus as well. She is loved and will be missed by them and also by their respective spouses, Jim Brown and Ramona Sombrio. She is "Granny" to Emily June Berg (Andrew), Franklin Brown, Charles(Katy) Sombrio, David (Moriah) Sombrio, and Jemma Sombrio. Atticus and Stella Berg and Oak Sombrio call her (great) "Granny" as well. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ward Brown (1986). June leaves behind many sweet lifelong and newer friends whom she looks forward to seeing again in heaven. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Int'l for the Bible training of pastors, church leaders and their families around the world. A private graveside service will be held because of the world circumstances in which we live. Gifts and condolences may be sent to 388 Hiwood Avenue, Munroe Falls, Ohio 44262.
