I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with all of you. Your mom was a great lady. I have such warm childhood memories of the nurses playing poker at our house. Listening to their laughter as I fell asleep. So much love.
With Sympathy,
Martha Urbank ( Lois's daughter)

I pray that all of the family will feel the peace and comfort that only God can provide at a time like this. Aunt Dorothy will surely be remembered as one of the most welcoming and strong women that I have ever known. She always had open arms and a stern word for me and loved to beat me at marbles or Uker. We would play for hours and she never took mercy. Watching her and Uncle Carl was the best entertainment money could not buy. They loved going after each other, especially when playing games. Those were two of the happiest people, especially when telling about there children and grandchildren. I know that each of the children has inherited a piece of them to pass down so their legacy will continue for generations to come. May God bless you all

Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Carl were always a favorite to visit. It was a wild house with their 6 kids and the 6 of us. 12 kids in one house. Boy, oh, Boy did we have fun. One great memory for me is 1990, when Aunt Dorothy, Myself and My Daughter, Denise, made a 21 day trip to Europe. We laughed, ate, sang and hauled luggage from train to train all over Europe. She had directions from Uncle Carl that all he wanted was some French Wine. I think she paid twice as much to ship it home as it cost her. I will never forget when she and Uncle Carl came with Mom and Pop to Baton Rouge to visit us. I took them to N.O for Mardi Gras Parades. She had a blast catching beads for almost 8 hour. I had to almost physically drag her and mom away to head home that night. Once in the car, we realized she had rubbed a sore on her arm reaching over the railing to catch beads. But the VERY best memories are of "Marbles". She and I would play until 3 or 4 am after every one was in bed, be back up around 8 and start marbles again as soon as the breakfast dishes were done. She was a very special lady, who loved deeply. She will be missed in this world.
Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you as you go through this time of adjustment. Even though we know she is in a better place, fully whole again, it is never easy. Love and hugs to all of you. Karen, Linn and all of our family.

I hope you are able to share some special memories together in the coming days as you celebrate Dorothy’s life and the legacy you are all left to keep alive. Condolences on the loss of your mother. The card game is going to have to wait for Irene, as she is currently living in assisted living at St. Lukes in the Portage Lakes. All of us children loved when mom hosted card night, as there was potential for some great leftover desserts. The group always had a great time, and Irene was blessed to have such cherished life long friends. I will share your mother's obituary with Irene. She has some dementia issues, but I'm sure she'll recall Dorothy with fondness.
Sincerely,
Ken Buehrle
