Uncle Allen was a kind and generous man that was always looking for the next big fish. If he didn’t find it, which was rare, he could tell you the story of the last one he caught over a good meal. Countless fishing trips to Canada and Alaska are fondly remembered. You’ll be missed Uncle Allen. Love Mike, Dana, Jana, Devin, & Wesley.

We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Allen passing. He always had a warm hug and a smile. He loved talking about his girls and his grandchildren. We enjoyed the beautiful video of such a wonderful life. Love, Jack, Nicole, Lily and Will Cook

Allen was my brilliant sister Jeanne's math teacher. Honor roll... He talked her into joining Ski Patrol later, when she was 20... She and her hubby had joined the Richfield Fire Department and became two of Ohio's 1st seven paramedics as part of a pilot program. Concerned with the program's initial success, she dropped off becoming a patroller... But she had talked me, at age 14, into also joining. Al was my Red Cross Advanced 1st Aid Instructor, mentor and Patrol Director. I babysat his kids and learned to crochet from his mom. A skill I am still using this week! Al continued to challenged and train us in 1st aid, ski and toboggan skills over the many years. I became an Patrol Winter Emergency Care Instructor and Senior Patroller under his guidance. I patrolled for 35 years retiring at 49. I am still an Alumni. I know a lot of folks on and off the slopes that I have helped, including one young man who is alive today, can track their care back to this man's training. He had such a profound effect on my young teenage life as the Patrol had become my 2nd, very influential family. The world needs many, many MORE people like this brilliant, loving, nurturing, patient, kind man... The impact he had on SOOO many lives will not be forgotten. Kath and kids... my heart goes out to you... Stay safe and healthy.
Love, Barb Brunie Winter Weinfurtner
