Let me begin by extending condolences to all members of Jackie's family. I will remember her as an always-upbeat personality who brightened everyone's day with her positive and engaging presence.
As a lawyer at Brouse McDowell, I met Jackie through her husband John who passed away several years ago. I have been with Brouse McDowell since 1974 and I can say without equivocation that John was likely the brightest and most resourceful lawyer in the firm's history.. No legal situation was too complicated for him as he quietly and methodically crafted solutions for Brouse clients struggling with very difficult situations. It was my good fortune to be able to have John serve as my most influential mentor back in the days when I was a much younger lawyer. As a lawyer and colleague, John was savvy, engaged and always had time to assist and educate younger lawyers not only about the current matter at hand, but also about private practice in general. He educated an entire generation of Brouse lawyers and taught them the right, effective, and honorable way to practice law.
I have been blessed to know and to be influenced by both Jackie and John Schwemler - two wonderful people. David Hunter Brouse McDowell
