Dean Johnson was a one-of-a-kind, funny, faithful friend, big hearted, giving, follower of Jesus Christ. He impacted every life he touched...and he made sure there were alot! His influence in my life was one of a loving "adopted uncle" and spiritual leader and I'm grateful I had him in my life. I pray that the Lord will comfort and be very present in the lives of the whole "Johnson " family in these days of loss. I love you all! I just keep thinking about the reunion he and your mom must have had!! And I hope he and dad are rejoicing tigether too...maybe even cracking each other up again (if that's ok :) )

My wife Jyl and I met Dean and Steve for the first time last summer in Ft. Wayne Indiana. Dean contacted me first in September 2017 about parts for his pretty special old International truck. We talked MANY times over the phone in the process of the restoration of the truck. Early on I realized that this guy was a good guy and a friend. That was documented when he sent me his book and I read from cover to cover. Dean clearly had a good life and touched a lot of people. I feel blessed to know him for even this short time. It was great to meet him at the IH Homecoming after visiting on the phone. I'll never forget his passion for life , God and people. I'm glad he enjoyed his journey thru life and that he is now with his bride. He will be missed by so many but we will always have the memories!

Brother Dean will be missed by us all. He taught me what it meant to be a Christian, and what it meant to follow Jesus So glad that he was part of our family’s life and the memories we have of him.

We loved Dean and Freeda! They had become close friends and loved being with them during the auctions and having lots of fun with an auction item, the bed pan, that was passed around several times and raised lots of money for FDS.
We were glad that we visited Dean a while ago and spent some time talking and reminiscing. We also bought one of his tables:)
They both will be forever in our hearts.

So sorry to learn of Uncle Dean's passing. He was a kind, gentle soul who could tell a good story with lots of details. One of my favorite stories is when we were at Grandma Gossett's funeral. We were all gathered at the church annex eating afterwards and it was the OSU-Michigan game in 2010. Rick, Devanie, and I had an iPad where we were sneaking peaks of the game because we weren't sure if it was appropriate to be watching. Uncle Dean saw us and came over with a big grin and said "What's the score?" We laughed and he sat and watched for a little while with us. I'm sure he is grinning again beside Aunt Freda. I know how much he missed her. Rest easy Uncle Dean.
