Obituary of Donald Thomas Wheeler

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Donald Thomas Wheeler, age 60, passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2020 in the comfort of his own home. He was born August 16, 1960, in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Joanne Wheeler. His family moved to Ohio in 1964 where Don has since resided. He graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1979 followed by Kent State University in 1984. Don had a passion for music of all kinds. He played the trumpet in marching band and for Geauga Lake. Don had joyous conversations with his daughters and brother regarding various past and modern styles of music. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and handed down this passion to his oldest, Katie. Despite the judgement of others weighing on his shoulders, he pushed through to see the good in the world. Don would drop anything he was doing to help others around him. His enjoyment was helping others and feeling needed. Don spent his later days taking care of his grand-dogs. He took them to Bow Wow Beach or Waterworks Park every day regardless of weather or health condition. They were his pride and joy because they made him feel needed and loved. Donald had a big heart for all life including animals, plants, and insects. Don is a longtime believer that all dogs have souls and go to heaven. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas Arthur and Joanne Grace Wheeler, he is survived by his siblings, Helen Stanley (Allen) and Timothy Wheeler; three children, Katie Farr (Alex), Aimee Wheeler, and Kelsey Knoll; grand-dogs, Pooplet and Scooter; niece Brooke Wheeler; nephews, Chase Wheeler, Michael Stanley, and Jacob Stanley; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday at Stow Alliance Fellowship Church, 4460 Stow Road, Stow, Ohio 44224, where friends and family may call from 10 AM until service time.
