Obituary of Ann Wahna
STOW - Ann Wahna, 93, passed away at home on December 15, 2020.
Ann was born in Colver, PA on December 16, 1926. After graduating from high school, she went to work at the census in Washington, DC. She came back to PA, met and married the love of her life, Nick, sharing the next 70+ years together. Devoted wife, mother and loving Baba, she was known as a dynamic person, amazing baker and talented seamstress who passed her creative passions on to her daughters and grandchildren. She was also renowned for running baking workshops and festivals at her church.
Ann is survived by her three daughters, Annette (Jim) Boncek, Janet Michalec (Robert), and Valerie Wahna (Nicole); three grand-children Leslie (David) McClinsey, Elaine (Joost) Goossens, and Nicholas (Cheryl) Boncek; eight great-grandchildren: Nadia, Gavin and Joshua McClinsey; Jon-Peter and Anna Goossens; Isabella, Madeline and Luke Boncek. She was preceded in death by husband, Nick; four siblings; and grandson, Andrew Boncek.
Friends are invited to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore 44260, on Saturday, December 19, 2020 for visitation from 10 to 11 AM, where funeral service will be held at 11 AM. V. Reverend Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, 1600 Krumroy Road, Akron 44306.
Due to current pandemic orders, please be symptom-free, practice social distancing, and please wear a face mask.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to macular degeneration research or a memory care charity.
