Dearest Cousin Charmaine and family,
My last visit with Bob (and you, Charmaine, & dear Karla) was at The Hendrickson Reunion in 2017. Though Bob wasn't feeling his best, he held lively conversations with everyone. He spoke of his collections and expressed an interest in having Mike Wolf, of American Pickers, to your home! Knowing I have a large S & P collection, Bob gifted me with a very old and rare set of S & P's from his own personal collection.
As usual, Bob seemed to have more energy than fellow attendees 1/2 his age! His knowledge about a myriad of topics was endless and both he and you, Charmaine, had a wealth of family history to share. The last time I was able to attend the Hendrickson Reunion was in 1998. So it was pure joy to attend! Bob shared my special kinship/love of animals. We had many conversations about beloved dogs and he was always interested in all my pets inside and in the barn yard. I appreciated his gentle spirit and his unique way of taking in the world. He was humble, kind, intelligent and so much more.
I shall miss him immensely and will be holding you all up in prayer. He had so many gifts in life and I can only imagine what gifts God is calling on him to share now that he has earned his wings. Rest assured he is with God and is at peace,
With great love, Yvonne and Rich & family

Bob is a cousin that will always be easy to remember. He was larger than life in some ways. Reunions were more special when Bob and Charmaine and other Streharsky family members attended. I am very sorry for your great loss. Our thoughts and prayers for the days ahead as you adjust. What wonderful memories you will always have. May God surround you with His loving care and strength. Much love, Margaret Boleratz Osborn

Bob and I spent a lot of time together after we moved back to the Akron area. We went to garage, estate and tag sales. We also made some trips. Our brother, Steve would go with us when he could. Bob also was available when my husband and I moved, remodeled, when we needed advice or just to visit. I really miss him. He never met a stranger. He would start up a conversation with anyone and was really good with children. He could always make a crying child stop with his bird whistles. There will never be another Bob.Love you! Sister Liz

I didn’t know Bob that well, that was my mom’s department and she has already departed this world. However, the one thing I remember his puppet that he brought to reunion that the younger cousins just got a kick out of.
I do give my love and condolences to you all.

Christmas Eve 2014 at St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church in Akron, Ohio. Christmas Eve was also Mom and Dad’s wedding anniversary (the 2nd time they married each other.) That 2nd pew on the right was “the family pew”, where Mom’s dad (Ervin M. Judy) and his mother and siblings always sat, dating back to when the church was built in 1914.

Dad supported many charities, causes, and individuals in need. Here are photos on Red Nose Day in June 2015 at home and June 2016 in Tip Top restaurant, where we ate every Wednesday with his brother Steve and sister Liz and other family. The 3 siblings sometimes ate multiple lunches there every week, so our “Tip Top family” was not surprised by Dad and us wearing noses.

The crazy Streharsky's and friends before going sled riding (at night!) at Munroe Falls Metropolitan Park (Feb. 27, 2011). It was Dad’s idea to go sledding and I was all in. We invited my cousin/neighbor Tricia and her friend Valerie who was visiting. They rose to the occasion. We invited the younger girls to join us. We had so much fun! For those who are wondering, that was 2 months before his 69th birthday.

Dad holding Mom’s hand as she sat by him during yet another hospital/rehab stay. This was at Altercare last year. She faithfully sat with him and took care of him every day, both there and at home these last years. I couldn’t help but snap this photo when he held her hand.

There is no way to share a memory of Bob...there are so many! What a joy to have have known him over the years and to recall all of the fun times we had when those family reunions came around! Always the cameraman...and we are so blessed to have so many great photos we treasure that were taken by Bob.
I am so sorry for your loss, Charmaine, and I trust you are taking comfort in knowing he is now healed of all that plagued him in the past several years. Sending you much love.

I am so sorry for your loss, Charmaine. I did not know Bob well, but my father used to talk to and about him. My father liked Bob. (Didn’t Bob work at the Post Office for awhile?) I think of you, Charmaine, whenever I think about my mother. You were such a good friend to her—and to me- especially at her passing.

I am so happy to have known Bob Streharsky. He was the husband of my cousin Charmaine, daughter of my Uncle Ervie, my dad's younger brother. Like how my Uncle Ervie was, Charmaine is sweet, kind, generous, accepting of everyone, and she found someone equally as genuine in Bob. I've always known Bob as being cheerful, upbeat, and always ready to help someone. I came to visit Bob and Charmaine in the summer of 1997. I came to Akron to see my childhood friends and stopped to see them and my aunt Ila, Charmaine's mom on my way from there to California. I had put a lot of miles on my old 1981 conversion van and it was running pretty rough at the time. Bob changed the oil, gave it a tune up and got it running so much better. When I offered to pay him he refused and said, "No! you're family!" Bob and Charmaine were always so hospitable. They liked to be the hostesses with the mostesses. In 2012, my sisters, Denise and Patricia, and my niece, Andrea came up to stay with Bob and Charmaine in Akron then later go to a family reunion in Indiana. At first I couldn't go because of a lack of funds. Bob said that Charmaine cried because I wasn't coming and paid for my plane fare. During our visit I got a kick out of how Bob loved to get up early to feed all of the squirrels, chipmunks, birds, groundhogs, and any other critter that would wander into the back yard. No animal or human would ever go hungry around him. He was also an avid photographer and had many pictures of all his furry friends. The last visit I made was between Christmas and New Years in 2017. Again it was like old times. Great company with two of the most wonderful people I know. Although I am not a person of faith, Bob and Charmaine are and were, at least in my perception, true Christians in every sense of the word. I'll always love them both very much.

Streharsky family and friends may God grant all of you with a speedy healing. I remember delivering mail and spending my lunch time talking to Mr.Streharsky while he was in the garage building bird houses. I would look forward to seeing him out at estate sales looking at albums. He was one of a kind and always had a smile for everyone. He will be missed by all and forgotten by none.

July 2015 - Dad and I won a ride in the new blimp, Wingfoot One. Dad got to sit in the pilot seat and stick his head out the window. Zoom in on his expressions. Riding the blimp was on his Bucket List. A short 4 months later he was diagnosed with leukemia, so we were grateful we got to go when we did. Happy memories! :-)
