Obituary of Dorothy E. Bauer

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Dorothy Elizabeth (Ink) Bauer, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away suddenly at the age of 82. Dorothy was born on September 3, 1938 in Akron, OH to David and Janet (Hay) Ink. She graduated from North High School in 1956. Upon graduation, she was one of the first telephone operators at Ohio Bell, before moving on to Eastern Central. She married Charles Bauer on October 31, 1959. They resided in Tallmadge, OH where she then enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. Her passions included reading, bird watching, gardening, journaling, cooking, and most of all, playing games with her loved ones. She enjoyed watching her Cleveland sports teams, game shows, and especially Andy Griffith. She was known for her sense of humor, infectious smile, and love for her family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara Vachon, and is now reunited with her devoted husband of 50 years, her Charlie. She will be deeply missed by her loving daughters, Debbie (Denis) Wallin, and Denise Cully, along with the light of her life, her grandchildren, Nicole (Dirk) Rozich, Brandon (Kelly) Wallin, Randy and Ryan Cully, great-grandchildren, Landon and Hartley Rozich, Baby Wallin on the way, and many nieces and nephews. A private service will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fairlawn, OH. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901
