Obituary of Joseph Anthony Mahoney

STOW - Joseph A. Mahoney, aka Joey, 46 of Ohio, passed away January 10, 2021. Joey was born December 27, 1974 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joe and Diane Mahoney. He was the oldest of two, with younger sister, Nicole. Joey met his soulmate, Amy Mahoney, in 1991 and they were together for 20 magical years. During their marriage, they welcomed two daughters; Gillian in 2002, and Elise in 2006. Joey followed in his father's footsteps in joining the military and served for the Army National Guard from 1993-1999. He later became a firefighter and paramedic for the Hinckley Fire Department. He went on to be a flight medic at Lifenet in Arizona. Here, Amy and Joey also owned their own company named Lux Computers. Their oldest daughter is now following in their talent and will soon be graduating with a certification in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. Joey also enjoyed Saint Patrick's Day, cars, and had a great love for all animals. His favorite past time was playing with his cat Mango (Mongo) and his bearded dragon, Meatball. His second favorite pastime was playing War Dragon, where he developed many close friendships. His favorite food was gummy bears. Joey is survived by his two daughters, Gillian (18) and Elise (14), son (cat) Mango, and grand-(bearded) dragon, Meatball. He is also survived by his mother, Diane Mahoney, sister Nicole (Matt) Spangler, nephew Connor Spangler, and niece (who adored him) Celti Spangler. Joey was preceded in death by his cat, Psychitzi, his wife, Amy Mahoney, and father Joseph Mahoney.
