I wanted to share with the family how much I loved my favorite teacher Mrs Wiggins! I attended Kent State University School and had the tremendous fortune of many, many great teachers! But I loved Mrs Wiggins the most. I became an educator (Teacher/Principal) and had so many role models to guide me… but the counseling, mental health , care for the child was modeled the most by Mrs Wiggins. I moved from Ohio to Texas to California where I start my 40th school year this week…but I recall way back when returning to Ohio and making sure I saw my beloved teacher in person once again. When I read her final wishes… I thought to myself “Yes, one more important lesson was taught”. May the love she gave others strengthen you as you move forward. God bless you. I saw Mrs. Wiggins passed and wanted to extend my condolences to her family. Mrs. Wiggins was my elementary teacher at the Kent State, University School. I can recall Mrs. Wiggins like it was yesterday -- always dressed so nice with the gentle demeanor of a loving teacher and steadfast professional. She used to put her hand on my shoulder and say, "Kris, I know you are good at kickball but you really need to work as hard on your spelling." Teachers like Mrs. Wiggins inspired me to go into education and this past summer I retired after 35 years working in higher education first as Division I coach, then college administrator and for the past 15 years as a professor. Great teachers like Mrs. Wiggins build legacy students and I hope I have done the same in my journey. May you find peace and joy in memories shared with your dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Kris Ewing
