Obituary of Joseph L. Teramano

Joseph L. Teramano, passed away on February 10, 2021, surrounded by his family at his beloved home in Hudson, Ohio. He was 91 years young. The best son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, Papa, Great Papa, uncle, cousin and friend to those who knew and loved him. Joe was born on July 30, 1929 in the Little Italy neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio to Daniel and Elizabeth (Bucci) Teramano. He was predeceased by his six siblings, Splendora Fazio, Charles Teramano, Dominic Teramano, Daniel Teramano, Marie Kolesar and Jean Nelli, He lived for part of his childhood with the Rossi Family of Garfield Heights, graduated from Garfield Heights High School and attended Fenn College. He worked for 45 years as a manager at Terex Division of General Motors in Hudson and then took on a second career as Vice President of Midstate Hose and Fittings, of Macedonia, finally retiring at the age of 86. He served as a school board member of Bedford City Schools, a Junior Achievement Advisor, a rocket camp counselor and a realtor. He was a proud member of the Unione de Abruzzesse Italian Club and St. Mary Church of Hudson. Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, the love of his life, Patricia (nee Jablonski), who he said he spotted across the room in a green dress and vowed to marry, and he did! Their marriage was a living example of true love. He leaves also his son Daniel Ryan Teramano-Tyler (Kelly), daughters Michele Teramano Collins (John) and Jennifer Teramano Stull (Jeff); eight grandchildren, Joshua Teramano-Tyler, Alexa Chambers (Greg), Josiah Teramano-Tyler, Chelsea Collins Gable (Justin), Shauna Collins Schord (Jeff), Jacob Collins (fiance’ Paget Kern), Hannah Collins and Joseph Collins, along with eight great grandchildren, Sophia Teramano-Tyler, Channing Chambers, Aubree Chambers, Kase Chambers, Rylee Chambers, Macy Schord, Justin Gable, Jr. and James Gable. Joe’s greatest blessing was his family. Joe was an extraordinary Dad, volunteering with Indian Guides, Girl Scouts, youth baseball and softball. A lifelong sports fan, he cheered on the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, as well as the Hudson Explorers, attending numerous Hudson football, ice hockey and field hockey games, for his children and grandchildren as well as attending their concerts, and dance recitals. He loved music, especially Frank Sinatra, singing in the car on vacations, watching American Idol and making legendary cookouts in his backyard. He was funny and smart, kind and caring, and witty with his words. He loved deeply, and was deeply loved. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of Joe’s life will be held this summer.
