At the age of 20 he was the youngest commercial pilot employed by an air service in Ohio. He attended the University of Akron and was employed by Stadvec Aviation. He then became Chief Executive Pilot for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company which enabled him to see the world. He retired in 1994 as the Director of Flight Operations. Walt served his country as a member of the Ohio Army Reserves. He enjoyed many adventures soaring in the sailplane that he built. His love of hosting, cooking, baking, woodworking, teaching, and praying will have an everlasting impact on those who were blessed to know him.
