Obituary of Joan Amaryllis (Mazzola) Palmer

Joan Amaryllis (Mazzola) Palmer, 90 years old, went to be in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 11, 2021. She passed at home with her family surrounding her. She was born in Akron, Ohio on August 18, 1930. As a child she grew up in North Hill. After graduating from North High School, she had many jobs. Her jobs were never where she found her identity. Her greatest accomplishment was her role as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother! She was responsible for leading all of her kids to Christ. Acts 16:30-31: He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your household.” Joan was an only child, married Russ Mazzola, and raised 8 kids. This loving family has since grown abundantly into a family of 93 and still counting. Preceded in death by mother Hazel (Clark) Fortney, father Fred Beighey, husband Jack Palmer, grandson Jonathan Zuravel, and son in law Brock Harrah, she is survived by children; Marguerite Mazzola Harrah (Brock), Charles Mazzola (Patty Lee), Diane Mazzola Alexander (Michael Waddle), Russell Mazzola (Deann), Laurie Mazzola Zuravel (Paul), Dan Mazzola (Barb), Michelle Mazzola Lowdermilk (Brian), Debbie Mazzola Hickin (Joe); 25 grandkids; 30 great-grandkids and 2 great-great-grandkids. We appreciate all of your friendships, love and prayers. Due to our extremely large family, we have decided to keep the showing and funeral private. This will give our family time to grieve together. Livestreaming of the funeral service may be seen on Redmon Funeral Home's Facebook page (facebook.com/Redmonfuneralhome) beginning at 3 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
