To the wife and children of Dr. Pratt.
I just found out and would have gone to calling hours to express how much I loved and respected Dr. Pratt. He was my doctor for 40 years, starting when I was 18 until he retired. His bedside manner and wry since of humor was great and he helped me through a lot of tough medical issues over those 40 years.
I still vividly recall him telling me when I had mono at age 20 that I had the highest white blood cell count ever registered in Summit County and that if I didn't slow down (I tried to work through mono! - yeah, I ain't too bright!) to allow myself to heal, he was going to personally walk me over to the hospital and admit me! I then listened to him. :)
In my 30's, I had this huge boil in the middle of my forehead and I thought it was really serious and he said "it is just a big zit gone wild" and proceeded to tell me how to treat it and it was gone within a few days. Yes, I probably amused him as I did have issues I thought were serious and he would gently treat me and assure me it wasn't the end of the world and he always would fit me in right away - you can't get that kind of care these days.
His office staff were wonderful loving folks as well - I only now recall the name Cindy but maybe a Kathy as well?
I enjoyed reading some of the tributes here as it is a side of him I obviously didn't know but of course would have agreed that he was humble and generous based on my observations.
Chatting with Dr. Pratt will be on the top of my list when I get to Heaven!
I truly hope this gets read by his family.

I am a retired nurse from City Hospital and I wanted you to know that I had much respect for Dr. Pratt. I remember when I worked on the floor, I would observe him visiting his patients before the inpatient care was provided by a hospitalist service. He would see each patient, ask and answer questions and generally listened to them. He provided them with holistic care before that word was even popular. I am so sorry for your loss and the loss to the medical profession. RIP Dr. Pratt, even though they don’t need physicians in Heaven ,I’m glad I will be able to tell him what an impact he had on many some day.

Dr. Pratt was a wonderful friend. He told me that his friends call him “Chuck” and it felt special that he asked me to be informal with him. I will never forget going early for the “skull session” and then attending a Buckeye game with him and him coming with me to see the Cleveland Browns play. We also had a wonderful evening with him and Betty and Eric coming to our home to watch the Buckeyes play. On another occasion he gave tickets for my wife and I to go to the Horseshoe! If it weren’t for him I may have never seen the Buckeyes play in person! Love and prayers to the entire family. We love you. We are looking forward to seeing “Chuck” again in Heaven!
