Obituary of Albert Martin Ames

STOW - Albert M. Ames, 87, died April 20, 2021 Born in Akron, New York in 1934, he was a resident of Stow since 1995. Albert and his wife, Joanne, traveled the world having lived in Paris, Texas, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Wadsworth, Ohio. Albert had been employed with Babcock and Wilcox as an industrial engineer while receiving his engineering degree and his MBA at Akron University. He retired in 1997. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Albert enjoyed golfing, tennis, reading, and was a World War II history buff. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin and mother, Helen Ames as well as three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joanne; daughter, Debbie and sons, Steve and Jonathan (Donna). He is also survived by grandchildren, Dustin, Joshua, Wendie, Alexandra, Dale and Michael, and great grandchildren, Kane, Kyler, and Emma. He is also survived by sisters, Jean (Bob) Goode and Gladys (Tim) Clay. Pastor Michael Ward will conduct service Monday, April 26th at 2:00 PM, with calling hours one hour prior to the service, at the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, 245 Portage Trail.
