Obituary of William G. Meredith
STOW - On Sunday, May 23, 2021, William passed away at the age of 88 to join his beloved wife, Dorothy, who passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
Born in Akron, he was a resident of Stow since 1957. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, Korean War Service Medal with one Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge. William had been employed as a glazier with Glaziers Architectural Metal and Glass Workers Local Union 1162. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hiking, and yard work. He loved watching the wildlife from his home with his wife, Dorothy, and you would often find them feeding the squirrels, birds, and all the critters that graced their property.
Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Meredith, sisters, Karen, Joan, and Mary Jane, and his beloved wife, Dorothy, of 68 years who departed this earth only days before. So, together again they continue their journey.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelly (Tom) Shanahan, sons, Scott (Debbie) Meredith, and Trace (Tracey); grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jessica, Tyra, Troy, Tyler, Alisia, and Sean; great-grandchildren, Jesse James, Maddilyn, and Charlotte; brother, Tom Meredith, and sisters, Jeanne, Sandra, Julia, and Cheryl.
A Celebration of Life for both William and Dorothy will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 1:00 - 6:00 PM at Silver Springs Lodge - 5027 Stow Road, Stow, Ohio.
