Obituary of Helen J. Stiftar

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Helen J. Stiftar, nee Jaksa, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the age of 92 after a long and agonizing battle with Alzheimer's disease. Unless you knew Helen before her illness, you really can't understand how sad this really is. Helen was born and raised in Cleveland and graduated from East High School. A longtime resident of Bainbridge (Chagrin Falls), she lived her final years at The Gardens of Cuyahoga Falls. Helen was a modern working woman holding various corporate positions until her retirement in 1991 as Operations Manager for Anixter Bros. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Albert Stiftar, who passed in 2019, her parents, John and Ljuba Jaksa and sisters, Anne Stiftar and Elsie Sopko. Helen will be greatly missed by her daughters, Dianne Amburn (Jeffrey), Robin Stiftar; grandsons, Christopher Amburn (Jennifer), Robert Barwacz, and great-granddaughter, Zoe Amburn. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Helen's life on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1761 Second Street, Cuyahoga Falls 44221, Fr. David McCarthy celebrant. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Helen's family requests in lieu of flowers, donation in her memory to Gardens of Western Reserve Hospice, 3792 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223.
