Obituary of Pamela Lynn Loudin

AKRON - Pamela Lynn Loudin, 59, died June 20, 2021. Pam grew up in Northampton Township and worked at Fisher’s Cafe & Pub and Tack Store in Peninsula while in high school. She was a member of the Trailblazers 4-H Club for nine years and participated in the Summit County Fair as well as The Bob Evans State Trail Ride and Horse Bowl. When she graduated from Woodridge High School in 1980, she volunteered at the Northampton Fire Department as an EMT and worked as a cartographer for Northampton Township, drove a school bus for Woodridge Local Schools before moving on to follow her dreams of becoming a truck driver. She drove for many years for Consolidated Freight and eventually settled into driving with her soul mate and best friend, “Captain Jack” Davy, whose family owns the trucking company, MJD Trucking, out of Vineyard, New Jersey. The two of them, along with their faithful toy poodle, Tuffy, enjoyed the freedom of the open road as well as the comradery of other drivers who became friends and often ran loads together and looked after each other. Jack passed away suddenly in 2013 at which point, Pam came off the road to become her mom, Lonna Deane Loudin’s, companion and caregiver. She was a natural botanist and quickly transformed their house into a beautifully landscaped home which has become the pride of the neighborhood. In 2018, she was awarded the Beautification Watch Award by Mayor Don Horrigan and The City of Akron. Pam was a giver and loved doing things for others to make them happy. Pam was preceded in death by her father, Hugh David Loudin; her fiancé, Jack Davy; grandparents, Harold and Katherine Loudin and Arnold and Ila Staats; and aunts, Virginia Sandy, Marian Wingard, Barcy Koerner, and Cheryl McDaniel.
