Obituary of Laurence M. Baldwin
Laurence M. Baldwin, age 79 died peacefully July 2, 2021 at his home in Cincinnati. Former resident, business owner and funeral director in Akron, he was partner in Eckard-Baldwin Funeral Home in East Akron. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene L. (Pat) and Elizabeth Finnerty Baldwin.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, JoAnn; son Christopher Baldwin of Green Twp., and daughter Lisa (John) Wilber of Loveland, OH: sisters, Patricia (Dr. James) Grow, of N. Canton and Joan (the late Arthur) Robinson of Akron; grandchildren, Allyson and Stone Baldwin, Lauren, Savannah and Katy Wilber, many nieces and nephews, extended family in Indiana, and his beloved Schnauzer, Abby.
Larry was a former member of Joppa Lodge 666 F & AM, Tadmor Temple Shrine, U.S. Power Squadron and a Kentucky Colonel. He loved fishing, racing and his cars, and was a member of DOM Scudaria for many years. His sailboat, Opus, took him and JoAnn on many water-soaked adventures.
Chaplain Rob Grow will conduct service Thursday 12 noon at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Burial Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
