Lucas Didion

Obituary of Lucas R. Didion

Lucas Robert Didion, of Hudson, passed away July 31, 2021 at his home surrounded by family after a long battle with brain cancer. “I’ve already won”. A direct quote offered by Luke, both before and after his diagnosis, was a true testament to how he lived his short but full life. Luke met his beloved wife, Jessica Didion (Frailey) in 2004 while working summer jobs in their hometowns of Bellevue and Clyde respectively. Luke was a 2004 graduate of Kent State University and a 2011 Graduate of Cleveland Marshal College of Law. He worked as an attorney with Corsaro & Associates in Westlake before being invited to serve as a co-founder in the formation of a new practice, Integrated Retirement Planning Solutions in Cleveland. In his free time, Luke embraced all life had to offer. He threw himself in to a variety of hobbies and excelled at each one. Luke loved to plant, grow and share trees with others. He tended these trees with the same patience, care and optimism he shared with those around him. Luke was also an exceptional craftsman and built several beautiful, custom pieces of furniture for his family over the years. He even tried his hand (quite successfully) at the craft of making maple syrup. Luke was overjoyed to find and build a home on a property that offered several maple trees. He jumped in to studying and learning the process of making the syrup; right down to making wonderful treats with his homemade product. Most notably, Luke loved to share these skills and gifts with others. There is no better gift Luke gave this world than his beautiful daughter, Miranda Didion, born in 2018. During a time of uncertainty and continued challenges, Luke’s excitement and love for Miranda inspired and encouraged everyone around him. When people share stories about Luke, the common theme is his kind and positive spirit. He will forever be a role model and example of what it means to love, forgive and seize all the wonderful opportunities life has to offer. Luke is survived by his wife, Jessica Didion; his daughter, Miranda; his father and mother, Casey and Deborah (Rohrbacher) Didion of Bellevue; his brother, Max (Valri) Didion of Huron; sister Meghan (Darek) Hilty of Bellevue; his brother-in-law, Craig (Nicole) Frailey of Galena, Ohio; and nieces Addyson, Harper, Kate, Brooke and Natalie. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 4th from 4-6 PM at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow with a time of fellowship at Panini’s (Stow) to follow. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
