STOW - Ingrid Helga (nee Ullman) Hollabaugh. Ingrid Hollabaugh,92, of Stow passed peacefully on August 10, 2021. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 17, 1928. Ingrid earned her teaching degree from Kent State University in 1950. This is where she met her husband, Russel. After they married, she taught sixth grade in Des Moines, Iowa while her husband attended medical school. Ingrid raised her family in Stow, and afterward she and Russ moved to Greenville, South Carolina and lived in a beautiful home on Pebble Creek Golf Course for over twenty years. She moved back to Northeast Ohio in 2014. Ingrid was a loving wife and mother; she was the family matriarch. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain, hosting many dinners and gatherings. Ingrid was both athletic and artistic. She was a golfer, runner and played varsity field hockey and basketball at Cleveland Heights High School. Ingrid was a talented watercolor painter, designing a different Christmas card each year using a beautiful water color painting of a bird. Friends and family always looked forward to these cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russel, daughter, Krista Layman, parents, Rudolf and Helga Ullman, brother, Leonard Ullman and grandson, Eric Russell Marschik. Ingrid is survived by children, Kim (Eric) Marschik of Stow, Karin Ansell of Lakeville, Minnesota, Kurt Hollabaugh of Allen, Texas; son-in-law, Larry Layman of Martinez, Georgia; sisters, Louise (William) Fall and Irene Chambers of Sterling, Virginia; grandchildren, Kyle (Pam) Layman of Greenville, South Carolina, K. Louise Layman of Martinez, Georgia, Paul (Vielka) Marschik of Kent, Scott Marschik of Stow, and Natalie Ansell of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Ingrid will be forever in her family’s hearts, as she was the light of their lives. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 3725 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224 or the charity of their choice. The family would like to thank the staff of Vitalia in Stow for their wonderful care and Traditions hospice for their support.
