Obituary of Rosa B. Bank

Rosa was born February 11, 1925, in Harlan, Kentucky and was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Bank and devoted son, Julian. Rosa is survived by her adoring daughter, Sylvia Garber, and son, John, along with her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Rosa worked on Corsair aircraft in Akron during WWII in support of the war effort, and was a dedicated employee of Farm Boy Meats in Northampton for 37 years prior to her retirement. In her golden years, she loved to cook for family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching cooking shows and never missed the 'Golden Girls'. Rosa was a devout Catholic, and her pragmatic observations were both profound and inspirational to all that were lucky enough to have known her. She had a wonderful smile and infectious laughter that warmed everyone around her. Rosa was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in a private ceremony attended by her family and friends.
