Obituary of Patricia A. Kapusinski

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Patricia “Patti” A. Kapusinski, (nee Francisko), of Cuyahoga Falls was freed from this life on September 13, 2021, to begin her new life in eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Patti’s last few years were challenged by the effects of Alzheimer’s, however, by the grace of Jesus, she was able to remain home until her sudden death. She was a student of the Bible, strong in her faith, and bold in her witness. Patti was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and loved going to the ballpark, having season tickets for 20 years. Patti was involved in many ways of helping others. Graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes in Cleveland, OH, she began her professional career as a beautician. She later entered the Cuyahoga Falls City Schools where she eventually became a teacher’s aide and held that position until her retirement in 2016 after 26 years of service in varying positions in the system. Patti loved working with children and always saw each one of them as special and strived to make them see this. She was a member of the committee that started the Ronald McDonald House of Akron and contributed thousands of hours of voluntary service over many years once the house opened. While having the summers “off” of her job at the schools, she was the Food Services director at Camp Mission Meadows on Lake Chautauqua in western New York for 12 years using her love of cooking to prepare meals well beyond “camp food." Patti served as president for OAPSE 111 for many years while employed by the schools caring for the members of the union. With the desire to help others, she helped youth with drug and alcohol abuse through the Saturday Family Workshop program. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Eleanor Francisko; brother, Fr. Gary Francisko, and in-laws Carl and Adella Kapusinski. She will be missed by Wes, her husband of 41 years; daughter, Kristin (Todd) Burton; granddaughter, Sydney; sisters, Elaine (Allen, deceased) Jones and Judy Grocky; brother-in-law, Mark (Nancy) Kapusinski; sister-in-law, Lori (Larry, deceased) Laing and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Family and friends may call Sunday, September 26th from 2 to 6 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, Stow, OH. The service will be on Monday, September 27th at 10 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, Pastor Steve Neumeyer officiating, followed by interment at Markillie Cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Carl, 8054 Calvin Road, Ravenna, OH 44266, or Camp Mission Meadows, 5201 East Lake Road, Dewittville, NY 14728.
