Obituary of David Terry Brandon

David T. Brandon, 81, of Moline, IL, formerly of Stow, OH went home to be with his Lord on September 29, 2021. David was born April 22, 1940, in Barberton, OH, the third of four children begotten by Richard and Dorothy (Wilkinson) Brandon. David graduated from Milligan College with a degree in business. After being charmed by her southern accent, he married the woman of his dreams, Laura Frances Shipley on July 20,1963. Dave served in the National Guard before working in the heating and air-conditioning business. His hard work and affable personality allowed Dave to move on to his own business, Brandon Heating and Air-conditioning in Stow. Dave retired from this successful business after years of servicing the Stow community and developing lifelong friendships. Dave was an avid golfer, fisherman, and euchre player. He was a member of Fox Den Golf Club. He spent many summer vacations at Muskie Bay, Ontario, Canada with his family and friends, teaching his children and grandchildren the art of fishing. He was a member of First Christian Church of Stow his entire adult life where he served as a Sunday School teacher and elder for many years. His children were baptized there and his daughter was married there. Dave was involved in many activities, but none as important as caring for his family, especially his special needs son, Richard, who lived a long, fulfilled life because of the exemplary, loving care of Dave and Fran. Survivors include his wife, Fran; daughter, Teri (Edward) Connolly of Milan, IL; grandchildren, Adrian Connolly, Nashville, TN, Annalise Connolly, Rock Island, IL, and Owen Connolly, Ames, IA; sister, Joan Cox, Fort Myers, FL, and brother, Richard (Dalene) Brandon, Manchester, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jeff, son, Richard, and brother-in-law, Bill Cox. Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will conduct services Saturday 12 noon at First Christian Church of Stow, where friends may call from 11 AM until service time. Private burial Silver Springs Cemetery.
