Obituary of Dennis S. Chrobak, Ph.D.

SILVER LAKE - Dennis S. Chrobak, Ph.D., 81, died October 12, 2021. Born in Lorain, he was a resident of Silver Lake since 1986. Dennis received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Case Institute of Technology, Master of Business Administration, and Ph.D. of International Business from the University of Cambridge. He had been employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as Executive Director of International Race Tires, retiring in 1995. Dennis was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout and going on to serve as a Scoutmaster. Dennis was an inventor, technology creator, innovator, and entrepreneur. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Edith (Kertez) Chrobak, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Chrobak; daughter, Catherine Chrobak; sons, Philip (Tricia) Chrobak, James Chrobak; grandchildren, Kenneth (Christa) Fry IV, Jeana Fry, Christopher (Shazia) Chrobak, Taylor (Richard) Smetts, Jesse McKeown; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Savanna, Zinadeen, and Kenny; sister, Joan Khatib. Mass of Christian Burial 12 PM Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to defray from medical expenses for Dennis' son, Philip.
