Barbara Myers

Obituary of Barbara Myers

Barbara Myers (White) died November 6, 2021, a day after her 80th birthday. Born in Naperville, Illinois, she was a resident of Stow since 1973. Barb attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education and met her future husband, John. Married for 50 years, they enjoyed traveling together, from Hilton Head, SC to Las Vegas, NV and many places in between. Preceded in death by her husband, John Myers, she is survived by son Jeff (wife Dawn) of Bentonville Arkansas, daughter Jennifer (husband Tim) of Atlanta Georgia, and granddaughter, Molly Myers, of whom she was ever proud of as a current student at the University of Oklahoma (go Sooners!). Barb was blessed in having a loving and loyal group of friends which she referred to as her “bridge group”. They often enjoyed playing cards or dining together. While most are lucky enough to have one or two close friends Barb had an entire group of them! Barb along with her late husband selflessly donated her body to the Cleveland Clinic Body Donation Program for the advancement of medical science. DUE TO CURRENT COVID CIRCUMSTANCES, THE MEMORIAL GATHERING FOR BARBARA ON DECEMBER 29 HAS REGRETTABLY BEEN CANCELLED. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
