Obituary of Gregory Lee Swaebly
STOW - Gregory Lee Swaebly, 69, passed away December 23, 2021.
Born May 7, 1952, in Port Clinton, OH, he was a long-time resident of Stow. Greg was a 1970 graduate of Stow-Munroe Falls High School. One of his earliest jobs was working for an ambulance company that was the first to arrive on scene at Kent State University on May 4, 1970. He worked ten years in the manufacturing industry and later in the highway construction industry, first at Thomas Asphalt in Kent, then retiring from the Shelly Company in Twinsburg.
Greg was a good man. A hard working, honest, and generous man, always ready to help those who asked whether it was family, friends, or neighbors. He loved to hunt and fish, but in recent years it was mostly hanging around his backyard firepit with his family, friends, and neighbors, watching the fire, the stars, and the moon. Greg was a proud lifetime member of the NRA.
Preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Swaebly; brother, Jeffrey Swaebly; father, Lyle Swaebly; he is survived by his wife, Ruth Swaebly; sons, Eric Swaebly, JC VanHoose; daughter, Debbie Ford; sisters, Deborah (Thomas) Selden, Patricia (William) Stewart; granddaughters, Erica and Emma Swaebly; grandsons, Cory VanHoose, Trey Ford; great-grandsons, Bryson and Luca VanHoose, who brought him much joy in his final years. He is also survived by his nieces, Jessica Livers, Shawna Price; nephew, Joshua Stewart, and their children; three aunts and several cousins. He loved them all.
Greg will be greatly missed by those who loved him and those who knew him. He was a good man. Our thanks to God for the time we had with Greg.
