Obituary of William L. Thompson

STOW - William L. Thompson, 95, began his eternal home in Heaven on New Year's Day, 2022. Born in Pomeroy, OH, he had been an area resident since 1940, and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Bill retired from Conrail in 1987 after 44 years' service and was a faithful and longtime church attender. Preceded in death by his parents, L.W. and Margaret Thompson; brother, Gene; his first wife Emma, and second wife Hazel, he is survived by his children; Bill, Jr. (Gaila), Diane (Don) Zinn, Gary (Diane), and Randy (Debi); 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Wednesday 12 noon at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Burial Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Traditions Hospice, 207 Portage Trail, Ext. West, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
