Obituary of Sharon June Fulton

AKRON - Sharon June Fulton, 82, of Akron, Ohio, entered her rest on January 26, 2022. Born in Toledo, Sharon was a strong and independent woman who loved God, loved her family, and was very active in the community. She worked for many years with the PTA, the Boy & Girl Scouts of America, the Summit County Housing Board, the United Negro College Fund, the NAACP, West Side Neighbors, HUD, the PGA, and more. Sharon was an entrepreneur, starting her own business making clothing, and later, creating her own interior design and drapery company. She worked in sales with General Ionics and Ameritech for many years until she retired in 1999. Sharon loved celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Independence Day with family and friends. She loved following the news, listening to WNIR, and she loved history. An avid gardener, she would have annual plants sales in her neighborhood, selling clippings from the many plants in her garden. Sharon also loved to go to garage sales, always looking for a special deal or rare find that she could resell on eBay. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date. She is survived by her children: James (Mary) Fulton, John (Tara) Fulton, Lori (Shawn) Croghan; son-in-law Mike Whitely; grandchildren: Heather, Sarah (Jacob), Tenyson, Jonathan, Jen, Jiana, Gillian (Robert), Devin, Brayden, Griffin; sister: Joyce (Jacques) Lingenfelter; and former husband: Paul Fulton.
