Obituary of James D. Vanderground

STOW - James D. Vanderground, 62, passed away on January 27, 2022. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a resident of Stow since 2016, and a U.S. Army veteran. Jim had been employed with Ford Motor Company as an assembly line team member at the Cleveland Engine Plant. He was a follower of Christ and attended New Life Church in Stow. Jim was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed traveling, hiking, and exploring. Jim had an outgoing and gregarious personality, never knew a stranger, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Glenna Jean Vanderground; adoptive father, Ralph Vanderground; brother, Ralph E. Vanderground. He is survived by his son, J.R. Vanderground; father, Thomas Grant; brother, Thomas (Elaine) Vanderground; sisters, Candace (Ralph) Hickman, Cindy Vanderground; nephews, Mark (Jennifer) McNeill, Scott McNeill, Brian (Amy) Hickman, Tre (Marisa) Hickman; nieces, Caitlin (Ryan) Webster, Emily (Randy Kuiper) Vanderground, Marci (Shawn) Rames, Sarah (Lawrence) Sumulong, Anna Grace (Lee) Murray; five great-nieces and nephews, his beloved aunt, uncle, and cousins. Visitation for family and friends has been scheduled on Sunday, February 6 from 2 - 4 PM at New Life Church, 4415 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Pastor Eric Prior will conduct a private service for the family on Monday, February 7. Livestream of the service will be available on the Redmon Funeral Home website.
